New holiday notice - Qingming Festival

Apr 03, 2024

Chinese Qingming Festival, also known as Tomb-Sweeping Day, is a traditional holiday in China that takes place on April 4th or 5th of each year. It is a time for Chinese people to honor and remember their ancestors by visiting their graves, cleaning the tombstones, and making offerings of food and other items.

Qingming Festival has a history of over 2,500 years and is deeply rooted in Chinese culture. It originated from the veneration of ancestors and the belief in the afterlife. During this time, families gather at cemeteries and pay respects to their departed loved ones. They burn incense, paper money, and offer favorite foods of the deceased as a way to ensure their ancestors are well cared for in the afterlife.

Apart from its solemn aspect, Qingming Festival is also regarded as a time to enjoy nature and embrace the beginning of spring. Many people take advantage of the holiday to go for outings and fly kites. It is believed that flying kites during the festival can ward off evil spirits and bring good luck.

During Qingming Festival, people also indulge in special traditional snacks such as Qingming cake, the cake symbolizes the circle of life and the cycle of nature. Such cakes are made of glutinous rice and various sweet fillings. We can use our food grade silicone cake molds to make them.

We'll stop working from 4th to 6th for this holiday. But you can contact us at any time.
